1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?

I’ve always liked colors, and have always enjoyed designing things to make them aesthetically pleasing. In middle school, there weren’t many electives, so I took an art class in 7th and 8th grade. Watercolor is my favorite. I love mixing different colors, and letting the color drops make their own design.

2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?

It took me around a year. Art skills require practice, especially drawing in perspective. You have to make everything point in a certain way to create depth within the drawing in order to make it more realistic.

3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

The hardest part is probably patience. Good work requires lots of effort and time. It is difficult to draw everything perfectly on the first try. A little mistake with colors or lines might change how the drawing looks.

4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

The easiest part for me is staying focused. I never get bored when working with colors: mixing, spraying, brushing are all just so fun. I can stay occupied and sit there for a day, experimenting with different styles.

5. What Is Your Advice For Someone Who Is Pursuing This Dive And Level?

Everyone can draw. In fact, you didn’t learn how to write first. As a child, you first learned how to draw! Drawing is a skill that can be developed through practice. If I can do it, so can you! I recommend looking up YouTube tutorials or just art tutorials in general. You can also get an art book that will teach you the steps to draw. When you feel competent enough you can move on to look up pictures online and just practice drawing them on your own. Art, however, is not as simple as many might think. There are many parts that you need to master: perspectives, ratio, depth, etc. There is so much to consider. Therefore, I suggest you look up some basic teaching videos on YouTube to get started.

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).

As best as I can remember, my first artwork is a drawing of Pikachu. I was so moved by how cute Pikachu is, and so I wanted to draw it. At first, I had a hard time to draw the face–it just looked wrong to me, and then the eyes weren’t what I wanted. It was so difficult and I wanted it to look cute so badly that I started an unstoppable cycle of drawing Pikachu. Over and over and over again, every day. Once I got good at it, I started drawing Pikachu everywhere: on my homework papers, on my notes, etc. I guess the more I drew, the better I got at it. It was as simple as that. Drawing Pikachu developed my interest in drawing for sure, and as you can see now in the sample art pieces I shared, I enjoy drawing simple animation characters that I feel I relate to.

8. What Evidence Did You Submit to Prove You Met the Requirements for This Dive and Level?

I took some classes at school. Here are some of the drawings I did during the art class.

9. Will You Be Pursuing The Next Level For This Dive? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why Not?

Yes. Fine art is something that I will continue to work on, creating designs, posters, etc.
