1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?
Since childhood, I wanted to be a father. I was never very much interested in marriage, though. That’s why I delayed getting married until I turned 35. To me, the only benefit of marriage was having a kid legally and morally. I never found women attractive enough to spend my whole life with. However, I was approaching and seeing girls out of family pressure and because I wanted to settle down with a family of my own. Besides that, though, I wanted someone to help me take care of my old and ailing parents and to meet their wish of seeing me living a normal life. I was never truly against marriage, even though I wasn’t excited about it. But with marriage came kids, which was my purpose of marriage. Through this dive I want to set a good example for others and show how a child changes us and ourselves completely, 360 degrees, in a positive way.
2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?
We tried to have children from the first week of marriage, and things already were not going in our favor. We visited the doctor, took medicine, had tests, and had to wait for at least two years or so to make things work in our favor. At one stage, we became so disappointed and lost so much hope that we decided we were going to adopt. But finally Zayan happened!
3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?
Parenting did not come easily to me. Even today, being a father is not an easy part to play. All my priorities are changed after Zayan’s birth. Before, I used to watch at least one movie a day, and now, I hardly have time to watch one movie in a week. My routine of sleep has changed dramatically. It’s not always easy to sleep with the baby and wake up regularly in the middle of the night with him. My wife and I took turns to wake up with Zayan to feed him and change his diapers. Being first time parents, we learned from making mistakes as we went along, and still are. Sometimes our mistakes cost us time and money but I guess everyone has a different parenting journey.
4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?
It gives me pleasure to recollect when my mother-in-law handed over Zayan to me on the day of his birth and I cried out that it looks like my wife Sundas. The easiest part was the love for my baby boy.
5. What Is Your Advice For Someone Who Is Pursuing This Dive And Level?
Financial planning is a must because having a baby could raise your monthly grocery bills in the form of formula milk, diapers, and baby garments. Usually baby garments are more expensive here in Pakistan than adult clothing. You really need to also start saving up money in advance to meet unexpected baby expenses which you won’t be able to plan for. You need to be sure to take care of your health as underlying health conditions can effect a baby like gestational diabetes. Be ready to flexible in your approach towards life as a baby will never let you stick to your daily plans. Finally, be ready for unexpected turns of events as babies are quite moody and unpredictable. So don’t get upset when things do not go the way you wanted them to go. No day goes as planned.

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).
The journey through pregnancy is full of excitement and adventures from the start. First of all, the happiness of testing positive on a pregnancy test is something you can’t contain. Second, going through the confirmation of the pregnancy through blood testing and waiting for the results, even over many weeks was so exhilarating. Third, going to a private sonologist operating nearby and seeing the first scan of the baby was great fun: it seemed like my baby was a peanut shape! Fourth, at eight weeks, it was great to see when my baby’s heart beat was shown to me. Fifth, when you see your baby growing and feeling its kick from inside. It is all a journey that can’t be expressed in words. Even those who don’t believe in the marriage institution should still go for surrogacy because having a baby is a wonderful experience.
8. What Evidence Did You Submit to Prove You Met the Requirements for This Dive and Level?
I shared a photo of my son’s birth certificate privately with the Break Diving dive committee. You can also see this photo below of me with my baby boy, Zayan.
9. Will You Be Pursuing The Next Level For This Dive? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why Not?
As of this moment, Break Diving hasn’t finalized the requirements for Parenting – Level 2. Once the requirements are finalized, I can make up mind to see if I fit into the dotted lines. Right now, I am delving into much introspection these days so as not to repeat past mistakes. I am in no hurry to live my life with any certain pattern. I’m living day by day, and working to find a new and better version of myself out of my parenting. So this phase of my life is so uncertain but yet also so beautiful. I’m positive that there are many hidden treasures to be discovered in my life in the days to come.
