Each of the below learning paths prescribe a recommended set of tasks, books, courses, etc. to help you put together a study plan. Remember the Break Diver's Creed: No Rules. No Excuses. No Regrets. Go make it happen!

Beginner

  • Find learning materials that give you an overview of drawing.  You can find some of the best in our 'resources' section for Drawing.

  • Expand your imagination so that you can realize that you are competent enough to draw whatever you want and with whichever tool you choose.

  • Definitely make sure to have a good set of drawing tools  For some, it’s just pencil and paper.  For others, it’s a full suite of drawing tools.  There are a number of free and paid resources options you can choose from.  Refer to in the ‘resources’ section.

  • Watch instructional videos regularly.

  • Draw!  Every day.

  • Drawing is not just a bunch of straight lines. Rather, it’s a collection of geometrical shapes that you have to always be aware of.

  • Be sure to check out all of the  'Beginner Resources' here in this handbook.

  • Take even more drawing classes to continue to improve your drawing skills.

  • Draw MORE, MORE and MORE, and keep on polishing your creative skills and imagination.

  • Observing nature may also be helpful.
